It has become a tradition to start the National Sports Collectors Convention on Wednesday by providing special free autograph guests for the Opening VIP Party and the Sneak Peek. The guests for this years event include 2 Hall of Famers and a two-time Cy Young Winner!
Joining us on Wednesday afternoon will be Hockey Hall of Famer and former Chicago Blackhawk Captain Pierre Pilote. A member of the 1961 Stanley Cup Championship team, Pilote was also the Norris Trophy Winner (given to the NHL’s best defenseman) in 1963-4-5. Pilote was named to the NHL Hall of Fame in 1975.
Also appearing will be Hall of Famer pitcher Rollie Fingers. Fingers was a 7-time All Star, won the Cy Young and MVP Awards in 1981 and was the 1974 World Series MVP in 1974. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1992.
Our third guest is Bret Saberhagen. Bret was a 2-time Cy Young Award Winner (1985 & 1989) and was the 1985 World Series MVP. Saberhagen threw a no-hitter in 1991, to date it is the last no-hitter by a Royals pitcher.
The three will sign from 3-4 PM at the Topps VIP Party which begins at 2:30 on Wednesday, July 29. The party is open exclusively to all attendees who purchase any of the week-long VIP Packages for the 36th National. Following the party, all three players will be signing for all attendees at the Memory Lane Sneak Peek from 4:30-6:30 PM.
The 36th National Sneak Peek is open to the public. Both VIP Admission Packages as well as a General Admission Ticket can be used for entry.
