The 36th National Sports Collectors Convention closed on Sunday, August 2 with a bang! A quick-moving storm not only sent loud thunder throughout the show floor but also caused a power outage that left a portion of the show floor dark. The emergency generators at the Convention Center kicked in quickly and the blackout was short-lived but it gave attendees and exhibitors something else to remember at the already memorable 36th National.
Reviews on the 36th National were very positive. Sports Collectors Daily reported, “Anyone who thinks the hobby is “dying” would have a different opinion after just one afternoon there. Changed yes, in many ways. But collectors are finding ways to collect no matter what and that’s a good sign for the industry as a whole.”
PSA’s Joe Orlando tweeted, “just wanted to thank all of our customers who came out to support PSA at The National this week. It was the biggest show PSA has ever had”.
We hope everyone who attended or exhibited at the 36th National in Chicago had a great experience. But now it’s on to 2016 and the 37th National. Dealer signup for the 2016 event exceeded expectations and, as in the past several years, we expect dealer booths to sell out well before the show dates. While booths are currently still available, you should contact the National Office as soon as possible to assure space for 2016.
